5 Things to do in Salford When Staying for Business

#1 Visit the Salford Quays

Salford Quays has been one of Britain’s first and biggest regeneration projects since the late 1970s. Located just 15 minutes by train from Manchester city centre, this unique waterfront is ideal and is undoubtedly worth the hype. Here, you will discover several renowned leisure and cultural facilities on sight. Examples are The Lowry, Imperial War Museum North, Ordsall Hall, and other sporting activities.

If you’re a football fan, head to Manchester United’s Old Trafford stadium, located south of Salford Quays. Booking one of these luxury apartments brings you closer to all Quays offers when you’re in Salford for business.

#2 Step back in time at Salford Museum & Art Gallery

Surrounded by the University of Salford, this museum is a proper sample of a 19th-century area. Take a step back to the 1850s and explore its Italianate Renaissance-design art galleries. This building reflects the pattern of a Victorian museum, from its paintings to the sculpture and decorative artifacts.

Head to Lark Hill Place or the LifeTimes Gallery if you want a place to unwind.

Opened every Tuesday to Friday from 10 am to 4:45 pm, and Saturday & Sunday from 12noon to 4 pm.

#3 See the work of LS Lowry

The Lowry is home to constantly-changing historical items and, of course, the best of LS Lowry. Explore over 400 collections on sight, including the most extensive exhibition of Lowry paintings in Europe.

The house is open from Sunday to Friday from 11 am to 5 pm and Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm.

#4 Visit Manchester United

The world-famous football club is located in the south of Salford Quays. Old Trafford, which Archibald Leitch built, has hosted Manchester United’s regular season since 1910. The stadium had a number of upgrades and extensions throughout the last century.

Visiting on non-matchday lets you immerse in the history of the club. Moreover, you can visit the dressing room, press room, and VIP room.

In the museum, you can take a picture of yourself with the 1999’s treble-winning campaign – Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League.

#5 Take a tour of Chapel Street

Salford’s main thoroughfare has been around for as long as the city has. With its contemporary buildings vying for space next to historical landmarks, it wonderfully captures the city today.

The wheelchair- and stroller-accessible walk examines the critical route that links Salford with Manchester’s downtown, from Blackfriars Bridge to the Salford Museum and Art Gallery.

It includes Chapel Street and the Crescent, the principal thoroughfare that once connected Salford to the heart of Manchester, the first street to be illuminated by gas in 1806, and one of the nation’s busiest thoroughfares that makes up the A6 from Glasgow to London.[/vc_column_text][vc_btn title=”Book Accommodation” style=”outline-custom” outline_custom_color=”#000000″ outline_custom_hover_background=”#54c4d9″ outline_custom_hover_text=”#ffffff” align=”center” el_class=”.btn” css=”.vc_custom_1668421531121{margin-top: -30px !important;}” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fbookings.passtheproperty.co.uk%2Fcity%2Fsalford%2F”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
